Aberdeen challenge will inspire Celtic to improve – Rodgers
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes the challenge of facing Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership will help his team to improve.
The Hoops have won the last six league titles and are on course for a seventh this season. However, they have been pushed all the way by Aberdeen, who are currently second in the table.
Rodgers said: “Aberdeen are a good team and they have made us work hard this season. They have pushed us and we have had to find ways to win games against them.”
“That is what you want as a manager. You want to be challenged and you want your team to be challenged. It makes you better and it makes your team better.”
Celtic will face Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Wednesday night. The Hoops will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table, while Aberdeen will be hoping to close the gap.
Rodgers said: “It is a big game for both teams. We know that Aberdeen will be up for it and we need to be ready for that.”
“We need to go there and play our own game. We need to be aggressive and we need to create chances. If we do that, I am confident that we can win the game.”
