Strictly star Amy Dowden says she is “excited” to be partnered with Countryfile presenter JB Gill and DJ Lauren Oakley for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two.

The professional dancer, 31, has been a mainstay on the BBC One show since 2017, and has previously been partnered with the likes of Danny John-Jules and Karim Zeroual.

Speaking about her new role, Amy said: “I’m so excited to be joining the It Takes Two team alongside the wonderful JB Gill and Lauren Oakley. It’s going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to get started.”

JB Gill said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the It Takes Two team with Amy and Lauren. I’m a huge fan of the show and I can’t wait to get behind the scenes and see all the action.”

Lauren Oakley added: “I’m so excited to be joining the It Takes Two team. I’ve been a fan of the show for years and I can’t wait to be a part of it. Bring on the glitter and sequins!”

It Takes Two is the BBC Two companion show to Strictly Come Dancing, which sees Rylan Clark-Neal chat to the contestants and judges about their experiences on the show.
