Carol Vorderman and Romesh Ranganathan are new hosts of The Great British Bake Off

The Great British Bake Off is getting a new presenting duo, as Carol Vorderman and Romesh Ranganathan are set to take over from Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding.

The news was announced on The One Show on Monday (January 16), with Vorderman saying she was "thrilled" to be joining the show. "I'm a huge fan of Bake Off and I can't wait to get in the tent and start tasting all those delicious cakes," she said.

Ranganathan said he was "honoured" to be asked to host the show. "I'm a big fan of baking and I can't wait to see what the bakers have in store for us," he said.

Vorderman and Ranganathan will take over from Lucas and Fielding, who have hosted the show since 2017. Lucas announced in December that he was leaving the show to focus on other projects. Fielding has not yet confirmed whether he will be returning to the show.

The Great British Bake Off is one of the most popular shows on British television. The show sees amateur bakers compete in a series of challenges, with the winner being crowned the "Great British Bake Off" champion.

The new series of The Great British Bake Off is set to air on Channel 4 later this year.
