Chukwueze discusses Monza-Milan and Fonseca’s backing: “He believes in me”

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze has spoken about his recent performances for the club and his relationship with manager Paulo Fonseca.

The Nigerian international has been in impressive form for the Yellow Submarine this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 12 appearances.

Chukwueze was particularly impressive in Villarreal’s recent 2-0 win over Monza, where he scored a stunning goal and was a constant threat to the opposition defence.

Speaking after the game, Chukwueze said he was happy with his performance and praised Fonseca for his support.

“I’m very happy with the way I’m playing at the moment,” Chukwueze said. “I’m getting into good positions and scoring goals, which is what I want to do.

“The manager has been very supportive of me and I’m really enjoying working with him. He believes in me and that gives me a lot of confidence.”

Chukwueze will be hoping to continue his good form when Villarreal take on AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday.
