Corrie star takes to the road in British Motor Museum classic
John Middleton, who played Ashley Thomas from 1981 to 2017, piloted a Triumph Roadster at the museum on Saturday August 20.
The world-renowned motor museum is hosting a special Coronation Street-themed weekend on August 27-28, and John was on hand to give visitors a sneak peek of what’s to come.
John, 70, drove the Triumph Roadster which was featured in the popular soap in the 1960s. It was one of several classic cars on display at the museum over the weekend, including the Ford Cortina driven by Ena Sharples and the Rolls-Royce used by Mike Baldwin.
Visitors to the Coronation Street-themed weekend will be able to see these iconic cars up close, as well as enjoy a host of other activities, including meeting Corrie stars past and present, taking part in a Coronation Street quiz, and watching classic episodes of the show.
Tickets for the Coronation Street-themed weekend are on sale now, priced at £18 for adults and £12 for children. For more information, visit the British Motor Museum website.
