Cowgate incident: Police release man over Edinburgh machete attack
Police Scotland has released a man who was arrested in connection with a machete attack in Edinburgh's Cowgate.
The incident, which took place on Saturday night, saw a 22-year-old man stabbed in the back.
The victim was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he is currently in a stable condition.
A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, but he has now been released pending further inquiries.

The incident took place on Saturday night at around 11pm in the Cowgate area of Edinburgh.
The victim, a 22-year-old man, was walking along the street when he was attacked by a man wielding a machete.
The victim was stabbed in the back and suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he is currently in a stable condition.
