“He’s Struggled” – John Eustace Told to Drop 3-Goal Blackburn Rovers Star for Sheffield United
Birmingham City boss John Eustace has been urged to drop Blackburn Rovers loanee Dilan Markanday for the clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.
Markanday has scored three goals in 13 appearances for Birmingham, but former Blues striker Clinton Morrison believes he has “struggled” in recent weeks.
The 21-year-old has not scored in his last five outings, and Morrison thinks it is time for a change.
“Markanday has struggled in the last few games,” Morrison told BBC West Midlands.
“He’s not getting into the game, he’s not getting on the ball, and he’s not creating chances.
“I think it’s time for John Eustace to drop him and give someone else a chance.
“I think Troy Deeney deserves to start. He’s a proven goalscorer, and he’s the type of player who can make a difference in a game like this.
“I think it’s a no-brainer. I think Eustace has to drop Markanday and start Deeney.
Birmingham are currently 16th in the Championship table, and they will be looking to close the gap on the top six when they face Sheffield United on Saturday.
The Blades are fourth in the table, and they will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Burnley last weekend.
It should be a fascinating contest, and it will be interesting to see if Eustace takes Morrison’s advice and drops Markanday.
