Towie star Joey Essex is unconvinced by the rumoured lineup for the 2024 series of I’m A Celebrity. Joey, who was a contestant on the show in 2013, believes there is a lack of star power in the rumoured line-up. He said: "I don’t know who any of these people are. If I’m being honest." In recent weeks, there have been several reports about who could be taking part in the next series of I’m A Celebrity and while there has been some speculation about big names such as Dua Lipa and Stormzy, the majority of the rumoured contestants are relatively unknown to the general public.

Joey believes that in order for the show to be a success, it needs to have a good mix of well-known faces and more obscure names. He said: "I think you need a good balance of people that people know and people that people don’t know. I think that’s what makes the show interesting. When you have people that people don’t know, you get to know them on the show and you get to see their personalities. But you also need some star power to draw people in." Joey also believes that the show needs to have a good mix of characters in order to be successful. He said: "You need a good mix of characters. You need some funny people, you need some serious people, you need some dramatic people. I think that’s what makes the show so great."

In addition to Joey Essex, other former I’m A Celebrity contestants who have commented on the 2024 rumoured line-up include Vicky Pattison and Jacqueline Jossa. Vicky agrees with Joey that there is a lack of star power in the rumoured lineup. She said: "I’m not really impressed with the rumoured lineup for I’m A Celebrity 2024." Jacqueline, however, is more optimistic about the potential lineup. She said: "I think the lineup is quite interesting and I’m excited to see how the show plays out." The 2024 series of I’m A Celebrity is set to start in November 2024.
