India's Test struggles: Cummins eyes Australian advantage
Australia poised to capitalize on India's recent Test woes
Cummins optimistic about Aussie chances in upcoming series
Australia's Test captain Pat Cummins is optimistic about his team's chances in the upcoming series against India, citing the hosts' recent struggles in the format.
India has lost its last two Test series, at home to England and away to Bangladesh, and has not won a Test outside Asia since 2018.
Cummins believes that Australia can take advantage of India's current form and secure a series victory on their home soil.
"We know that India is a very strong team, but they've had a few tough results lately," Cummins said.
"We're confident that if we play to our strengths, we can put them under pressure and take the series."
Australia will be looking to build on their recent success in Test cricket, having won their last three series against South Africa, West Indies, and Pakistan.
The first Test between Australia and India will begin on February 9 in Nagpur.
