Ipswich Denied Victory as Leicester Snatch Late Equaliser
Ipswich Town were denied a vital three points in their quest for promotion from League One as Leicester City snatched a late equaliser at Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys took the lead through Macauley Bonne's first-half strike, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall levelled for the Foxes in the 89th minute.
The result leaves Ipswich in eighth place in the table, three points adrift of the play-off positions.
Ipswich made a bright start to the game and took the lead in the 25th minute when Bonne fired home from close range after latching onto a cross from Wes Burns.
Leicester, who are currently top of the Championship, responded well to going behind and created a number of chances to equalise before half-time, but they were unable to find a way past Ipswich goalkeeper Tomas Holy.
The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to score.
Ipswich came close to doubling their lead when Bonne hit the post, while Leicester had a great chance to equalise when Ayoze Perez fired just wide.
In the end, it was Leicester who snatched a point at the death when Dewsbury-Hall fired home from the edge of the area.
The result was a disappointing one for Ipswich, who will now need to win their remaining games if they are to secure a play-off place.
Leicester, on the other hand, will be happy with a point away from home against a team who are in good form.
