Jamie George urges England to show passion and topple world’s best

England hooker Jamie George has urged his side to play with passion and commitment as they look to topple the world’s best teams in the upcoming Six Nations tournament.

George, who has won 70 caps for England, says that the team need to be more consistent and aggressive in their performances if they are to challenge the likes of France, Ireland and New Zealand.

“We’ve got to play with passion and we’ve got to play with commitment,” said George. “We’ve got to be more consistent and we’ve got to be more aggressive, and we’ve got to start putting teams away when we’re on top.”

England have struggled to maintain their consistency in recent years, and they have often been criticized for their lack of aggression. George believes that the team need to be more clinical in their finishing and more ruthless in defense if they are to challenge the best teams in the world.

“We need to be more clinical in our finishing,” said George. “We’ve got to start putting teams away when we’re on top. And in defense, we’ve got to be more ruthless. We’ve got to make it difficult for teams to score points against us.”

England will begin their Six Nations campaign against Scotland on February 4th. Scotland finished fourth in last year’s tournament, but they will be looking to improve on that performance under new head coach Gregor Townsend.

George is confident that England can challenge for the title, but he knows that they will need to be at their best to beat the likes of France, Ireland and New Zealand.

"We know that we’ve got the potential to be a good team,” said George. “But we’ve got to start showing it on the pitch. We’ve got to start winning games and we’ve got to start challenging for trophies.”
