Jody Gormley: Former Tyrone player has 'no fear of dying' after revealing terminal cancer diagnosis
Jody Gormley, a former Tyrone player, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The 44-year-old, who played for Tyrone in the 2003 All-Ireland SFC final, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in his appendix in May 2022.
The cancer has since spread to his liver and lungs, and Gormley has been told that he has just months to live.
Despite the devastating diagnosis, Gormley says he is determined to live his life to the fullest and is not afraid of dying.
"I'm not afraid of dying," Gormley told the Irish Independent.
"I've had a great life and I'm content with what I've achieved."
Gormley says he is grateful for the support of his family and friends, and is determined to make the most of the time he has left.
"I'm going to live every day to the fullest and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it," Gormley said.
Gormley's story is a reminder that even in the face of adversity, it is possible to find hope and strength.
His courage and determination is an inspiration to us all.
