Liverpool and Manchester United Receive Transfer Boost From PSG Target’s Latest Demand
Premier League giants could land bargain deal for Inter Milan defender
Milan Skriniar has told Paris Saint-Germain he does not want to join them this summer, despite the Ligue 1 champions agreeing an €60 million (£51m/$63m) deal with Inter Milan.
The Slovakia international has been heavily linked with a move to PSG for months, but it now appears he has had a change of heart.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Skriniar has informed PSG that he does not want to join them, and that he would rather stay at Inter.
This news will come as a major boost to Liverpool and Manchester United, who have both been linked with a move for the defender in the past.
With Skriniar now seemingly unavailable, PSG may be forced to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements, which could open the door for Liverpool or United to land the 27-year-old at a bargain price.
Skriniar is a highly-rated defender who has been capped 54 times by Slovakia. He has been a key player for Inter Milan since joining the club from Sampdoria in 2017, and has helped them win the Serie A title in each of the last two seasons.
The defender is known for his strength, tackling ability, and aerial prowess. He is also a good passer of the ball, and can play in a variety of defensive positions.
Liverpool and Manchester United are both in need of defensive reinforcements, and Skriniar would be a valuable addition to either squad.
If PSG are unable to sign Skriniar, they may be forced to turn their attention to other targets, such as Manchester City's Nathan Ake or Chelsea's Wesley Fofana.
However, both of those players would likely be more expensive than Skriniar, and PSG may be reluctant to spend big on a defender after already spending heavily on the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe in recent years.
