Livingstone display a "coming-of-age knock" - Cook
Cook impressed with Livingstone's performance
England assistant coach Paul Cook has hailed Sam Livingstone's performance in the second Test against South Africa as a "coming-of-age knock". Livingstone, who was making his Test debut, scored a brilliant 103 to help England to a famous victory.
Cook: Livingstone has shown his class
Cook said: "I thought Livingstone played superbly. He showed great composure and class. It was a coming-of-age knock from a young player. He has a big future ahead of him."
Livingstone's innings was all the more impressive given that he was playing in only his second Test match. He looked assured from the start and played some beautiful shots. He also showed great determination, especially when he was dropped on 50.
Livingstone's performance will give England great confidence ahead of the third Test. He has shown that he is a player with a bright future and he will be a key part of England's team in the years to come.
