Mark Robins makes Coventry City point as players take all three at Middlesbrough
Coventry City boss Mark Robins praise his players for their battling qualities as they secured a 2-1 victory at Middlesbrough.
The Sky Blues took the lead through Viktor Gyokeres in the first half, but Boro levelled through Chuba Akpom just after the hour mark.
However, Coventry refused to be denied and Matty Godden grabbed the winner with just six minutes remaining.
The victory was Coventry's first at the Riverside Stadium since 2008 and it lifted them up to 11th in the Championship table.
Robins was delighted with his team's performance, especially their ability to come from behind.
"I'm really pleased with the players," he said.
"They showed great character and determination to come back from a goal down and win the game."
Robins also praised the impact of his substitutes, with Godden and Jodi Jones both making a difference after coming on in the second half.
"The subs made a big impact," he said.
"They brought fresh legs and energy to the team and they helped us to get the win."
Coventry will now be looking to build on this victory when they host Bristol City on Wednesday night.
Robins is confident that his team can continue to pick up points if they continue to show the same battling qualities.
"We've got a tough game against Bristol City coming up, but we're confident that we can get a result," he said.
"We're a good team and we're starting to show what we can do."
