Newport County stun Peterborough to reach FA Cup fourth round
League Two Newport beat League One Peterborough 2-1 at Rodney Parade to reach the FA Cup fourth round.
Goals from Priestley Farquharson and James Waite earned Newport a famous victory, while Jonson Clarke-Harris scored a late consolation for Peterborough.
Newport started the match brightly and took the lead in the 20th minute when Farquharson fired home from inside the area.
Peterborough equalised in the 55th minute through Clarke-Harris, but Newport regained the lead just two minutes later when Waite headed home from a corner.
Peterborough pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Newport held on to secure a famous victory.
Newport will now face either Sheffield Wednesday or Fleetwood Town in the fourth round.
