Police rush to busy Scots street as pubs shut & roads sealed off amid major incident

Emergency services were called to the scene on Kilmarnock Road at around 9.15pm last night, after a major incident saw cops cordon off the area.

Armed cops and police vehicles were seen in the Shawlands area of Glasgow as Kilmarnock Road was closed by officers.

Officers were pictured on patrol with dogs while a helicopter was also heard circling the area.

Pictures and videos from the scene show emergency services at the cordon, with locals reporting a heavy police presence.

An eyewitness said: "Police put up cordons outside of the Brook pub and an Indian restaurant next door on Pollokshaws Road."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that an incident is ongoing in the Shawlands area of Glasgow."

"Emergency services are currently in attendance."
