Sunderland Assistant Manager Makes Step Up

Sunderland AFC's assistant manager, Régis Le Bris, has been named the new manager of Championship side Queens Park Rangers. The 46-year-old Frenchman replaces Michael Beale, who left QPR to join Rangers. Le Bris has a good track record in management, having led Lorient to promotion to Ligue 1 in 2020. He also won the Coupe de France with the club in 2021. Le Bris is a highly-rated coach who is known for his attacking style of play. He is also a good developer of young players, which will be important for QPR as they look to build a team that can challenge for promotion to the Premier League. Le Bris said he is "delighted" to be appointed as QPR manager. "I am very excited to be here and I am looking forward to working with the players and staff to achieve success," he said. "I believe that QPR has a great squad and I am confident that we can achieve our goals together." QPR chairman Amit Bhatia said he is "thrilled" to have appointed Le Bris as manager. "Régis is a highly-respected coach with a proven track record of success," he said. "We are confident that he is the right person to lead QPR forward and we are looking forward to working with him to achieve our goals." Le Bris is expected to take charge of his first game as QPR manager on Saturday, when they host Millwall at Loftus Road.
