Sri Lanka Thrash Nepal to Book Semi Final Berth in Hong Kong Sixes

Sri Lanka put on a clinical performance to thrash Nepal by 63 runs and book their place in the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Sixes

Sri Lanka's openers got them off to a flier, with Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathilaka both hitting boundaries from the first over.

They continued to take the attack to the Nepal bowlers, and by the end of the powerplay, Sri Lanka were 50 without loss.

Nepal's bowlers finally got their breakthrough when Gunathilaka was caught by Dipendra Singh Airee for 23, but Nissanka continued to punish the Nepal attack, and he eventually fell for a well-made 41.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Dasun Shanaka then took over the mantle, and they both hit quick-fire thirties to help Sri Lanka post a daunting total of 133 for 3.

Nepal's batsmen never really got going in their chase, and they were bowled out for just 70 in the final over.

Sandeep Lamichhane was the pick of the Nepal bowlers, taking 2 for 21, but he was unable to prevent Sri Lanka from cruising to a comfortable victory.

Sri Lanka will now face Pakistan in the semi-finals, while Nepal will have to settle for a place in the Plate Final.
