England beat West Indies by 59 runs under DLS to level series at 1-1
Rain forced an early finish to the second one-day international between West Indies and England in Barbados, with England winning by 59 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method to level the three-match series at 1-1.
England made 229 all out from 49.2 after being put in to bat, with Jason Roy top-scoring with 55. West Indies were 149 for 4 from 33.2 when rain stopped play, with Shai Hope on 51 and Kyle Mayers on 38.
Roy leads England revival
England’s innings was rescued by Roy, who struck 55 from 62 balls, smashing six fours and two sixes. He shared stands of 52 with James Vince and 57 with Sam Billings. Phil Salt, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone all got starts but failed to kick on.
Rashid spins England into contention
Adil Rashid was the pick of the England bowlers, claiming 3 for 24 from 8 overs. He removed Shai Hope, Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein to peg West Indies back and put England in the ascendancy.
Rain has final say
Rain began to fall heavily in the 34th over of the West Indies chase and the players were forced off the field. After a delay of around 90 minutes, the umpires decided that no more play would be possible.

The series is now level at 1-1 with one match remaining. The final match will be played at the same venue on Wednesday.
