Blackpool winger's absence against Gillingham explained ahead of upcoming Leyton Orient trip
Injury ruled out winger Josh Bowler from playing against Kent rivals
Blackpool winger Josh Bowler did not feature in the Seasiders' 1-0 defeat to Gillingham on Saturday, July 30. But the winger is expected to return for the trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday, August 6.
Bowler missed the friendly game at Priestfield Stadium due to a slight hamstring injury, but there are no concerns over the winger's fitness ahead of the new League One campaign.
Bowler expected to be fit for Leyton Orient trip
Speaking after the Gillingham game, Blackpool boss Michael Appleton said: "Josh Bowler had a little bit of a tight hamstring so we didn't risk him today, but he'll be fine for next week."
Bowler is one of Blackpool's key players and will be hoping to make a big impact in League One this season. The Seasiders will be looking to make a quick return to the Championship after being relegated last season.
Blackpool will get their League One campaign underway with a trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday, August 6. The Orient won promotion from League Two last season and will be looking to make a good start to life in the third tier.
