Borussia Dortmund’s Torrid Start To 2023 Bundesliga Campaign Continues
The Black and Yellows Hammer Stuttgart 5-0 To Stay Level On Points With Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund claimed their third consecutive Bundesliga victory with a resounding 5-0 triumph over VfB Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon at Signal Iduna Park. The win keeps BVB level on points with league leaders Bayern Munich, who also won their match this weekend.
Dortmund were dominant from the start and took the lead through Karim Adeyemi in the 12th minute. The German forward latched onto a through ball from Julian Brandt and finished coolly past Stuttgart goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow.
Dortmund doubled their lead in the 29th minute when Donyell Malen found the net with a stunning long-range effort. The Dutch winger received the ball on the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful shot that flew into the top corner.
Stuttgart offered little in response and Dortmund continued to create chances at will. Adeyemi made it 3-0 in the 40th minute with a header from a Brandt cross, and Malen added his second of the game in the 49th minute with a tap-in from a Jude Bellingham pass.
Youssoufa Moukoko completed the scoring in the 70th minute with a clinical finish from a Malen cross. The goal was the 19-year-old’s first in the Bundesliga this season.
The win was Dortmund’s seventh in their last eight Bundesliga matches and it moved them up to second place in the table, level on points with Bayern Munich. Stuttgart remain in 16th place, just one point above the relegation playoff spot.
Bellingham And Malen Shine For Dortmund
Jude Bellingham and Donyell Malen were the standout performers for Dortmund in the win over Stuttgart. Bellingham was excellent in midfield, controlling the tempo of the game and creating chances for his teammates.
Malen was also impressive, scoring two goals and causing problems for the Stuttgart defense with his pace and skill. The Dutch winger has now scored four goals in his last two Bundesliga matches.
Dortmund’s Title Hopes Alive And Well
Dortmund’s victory over Stuttgart keeps their title hopes alive and well. The Black and Yellows are now level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the table and they have a game in hand.
Dortmund will be looking to continue their winning run when they travel to face Hertha BSC next Saturday. Bayern Munich will also be in action that day, hosting Eintracht Frankfurt.
