Club Statement | Newport County vs. Peterborough United
Newport County AFC is issuing the following statement regarding the postponement of the Sky Bet League Two fixture against Peterborough United on Tuesday 20th September 2022:
The decision was made after a number of Peterborough United players and staff tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the club's training ground was immediately closed and the squad entered isolation.
The club is working closely with the EFL and the relevant authorities to determine the next steps, and will provide further updates in due course.
Newport County AFC's priority is the health and safety of its players, staff and supporters and the club is taking all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
The club understands that the postponement of the match will be disappointing for supporters, but would like to thank them for their understanding and support during this time.
