Former Leeds United and Bradford City men form caretaker team after shock exit
Trevor Cherry and Wayne Jacobs join forces to take over at Guiseley
Trevor Cherry and Wayne Jacobs have been appointed joint caretaker managers of Guiseley following the shock departure of Marcus Bignot.
Former Leeds United and Bradford City defender Cherry and ex-Bantams striker Jacobs will take charge of the National League North club's game at Darlington on Saturday.
Guiseley are 16th in the table after a run of five straight defeats and Bignot left the club on Thursday after just 11 months in charge.
Bignot's shock departure
Bignot's departure came as a surprise to many as he had only recently signed a new two-year contract with Guiseley.
However, the club's poor recent form is thought to have led to his exit.
Guiseley have won just one of their last 10 games and have slipped to 16th in the table.
Cherry and Jacobs' experience
Cherry and Jacobs are both experienced coaches and have a wealth of knowledge of the National League North.
Cherry has previously managed Bradford City, Huddersfield Town and Leeds United, while Jacobs has had spells in charge of Bradford Park Avenue and Halifax Town.
The duo will be hoping to turn Guiseley's fortunes around and guide them to safety.
