Hunt for the Zoo-gitives!
Four raccoons have escaped Amazon World Zoo Park, with keepers asking for help to find the animals
Park staff have begun combing the area around the zoo as the animals are not considered dangerous to the public
Four raccoons have escaped from Amazon World Zoo Park on the Isle of Wight after chewing through the bars of their enclosure.
Keepers are now combing the area around the zoo in Sandown in the hope of finding the animals, which are not considered dangerous to the public.
The raccoons are part of a group of 10 which were brought to the zoo in May.
It is not yet known how the raccoons managed to escape from their enclosure, but they are believed to have chewed through the bars.
Keepers said that the raccoons are quite small and would be easy to miss.
They are asking anyone who sees the animals to contact the zoo or the police.
