‘I’d have signed him already’ – Verstappen reveals who he’d choose for Sauber seat in 2025

Max Verstappen has revealed that he would have already signed Nyck de Vries to the Sauber seat for 2025 if he was in charge of the team.

Verstappen, who is a close friend of de Vries, believes that the Dutchman has the talent and experience to be a successful Formula 1 driver.

“Nyck is a very talented driver,” Verstappen said. “He has won in every category he has raced in, and he has shown that he can compete at the highest level.”

“I think he would be a great addition to any team, and I’m sure he would be successful in Formula 1.

“If I was in charge of Sauber, I would have signed him already.”

De Vries has been linked with a move to Sauber for 2025, but it is understood that the team is also considering other drivers, including Mick Schumacher and Nico Hulkenberg.

Sauber is expected to make a decision on its driver lineup for 2025 in the coming weeks.
