James Tavernier: 'Rangers must do talking on pitch'
Rangers captain James Tavernier has called on his team-mates to do their talking on the pitch after a disappointing start to the season.
The Gers have won just one of their last four matches in all competitions and have slipped to fourth in the Scottish Premiership table.
Tavernier admits that the team's recent form has not been good enough and says that they need to start showing more fight and determination on the pitch.
"We need to start showing more character and fight on the pitch," Tavernier told Rangers TV.
"We're not playing well enough at the moment and we need to start turning things around quickly.
"The fans deserve better than what we've been giving them recently and we need to start repaying their faith in us."
Tavernier also called on the team to stick together during this tough period.
"We need to stick together as a team and fight for each other," Tavernier said.
"We're all in this together and we need to get through this together.
"We have a big game against Hearts on Saturday and we need to use that game to turn things around."
Rangers will be looking to bounce back from their recent setbacks when they face Hearts at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
The Gers will be without Alfredo Morelos, who is suspended, but Tavernier is confident that his team can get the win.
"We're going to go out there and give it our all," Tavernier said.
"We know that we're not in a good position right now, but we're determined to turn things around.
"We owe it to the fans and we owe it to ourselves."
