Lawson misses out on points in "frustrating" Brazil Sprint

Williams driver Alex Lawson finished 11th in the Sprint at Interlagos, missing out on points after a "frustrating" race.

The British driver started 13th on the grid but made a good start and moved up to 10th on the opening lap. He then battled with Fernando Alonso for several laps before eventually being passed by the Alpine driver.

Lawson was unable to make further progress and crossed the line in 11th place. He was disappointed not to score points but said he was pleased with his performance overall.

"It was a frustrating race," said Lawson. "I made a good start and I was able to move up a few places, but then I got stuck behind Alonso. I couldn't really get past him and I lost a lot of time. It's a shame, because I think we had the pace to score points today."

Lawson's teammate Nicholas Latifi finished 12th, so Williams did not score any points on Saturday. The team will be hoping for a better result in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
