Leeds United v Plymouth Argyle fresh injury news as new blows leave 14 out or doubtful but 2 men returning

Leeds United could be without 14 players for their FA Cup clash with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, with some fresh injury concerns emerging from the treatment room at Thorp Arch.

The Whites will be aiming to book their place in the fifth round of the competition when they entertain the League One Pilgrims at Elland Road this weekend.

However, Jesse Marsch's preparations have been disrupted by a spate of injuries.

Leeds United injury latest: New fitness worries for Marsch

Marsch revealed on Thursday that captain Liam Cooper and midfielder Mateusz Klich are major doubts for the tie.

Cooper suffered a knock in the defeat at Nottingham Forest last weekend which kept him out of Tuesday's Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal.

Klich, meanwhile, missed the trip to the Emirates with a non-Covid-related illness.

Leeds United injury latest: Long-term absentees still out

Cooper and Klich join a lengthy list of players currently sidelined for Leeds.

Patrick Bamford, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Sinisterra, Rodrigo, Archie Gray and Sonny Perkins are all definitely ruled out.

Stuart Dallas, Adam Forshaw and Leo Hjelde are out long-term.

Leeds United injury latest: Firpo and Gyabi back in contention

There is some positive news for Marsch, however, with Junior Firpo and Darko Gyabi back in contention.

Firpo has been out since November with a knee problem, while Gyabi has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

Leeds United injury latest: Marsch's dilemma

The injuries leave Marsch with a selection dilemma ahead of the visit of Argyle.

He could opt to rest some of his key players, such as Illan Meslier, Robin Koch and Marc Roca, to give them the chance to recover ahead of next week's Premier League clash with Brentford.

However, he will be keen to avoid a slip-up against a League One side, particularly after the disappointing defeat to Arsenal in midweek.
