Luke Williams confirms Swansea City interest in forward who slipped through fingers

Swansea City boss Luke Williams has confirmed the club's interest in signing Liverpool forward Liam Millar.

Millar, 22, is a Canadian international who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Hibernian. He scored 13 goals in 65 appearances for the Scottish club.

Williams told the South Wales Evening Post: "We are interested in Liam. He is a player we have been tracking for a while. He is a good young player with a lot of potential. We believe he could be a good addition to our squad."

Millar is a product of the Liverpool academy. He made his debut for the club in 2019, but has since been loaned out to Kilmarnock and Hibernian.

The forward is out of contract at Liverpool this summer. Swansea City are keen to sign him on a free transfer.

Williams added: "We are still in talks with Liverpool. We hope to be able to reach an agreement soon."

Millar would be a valuable addition to the Swansea City squad. He is a versatile forward who can play on the wing or up front.

The Canadian international would also add some much-needed depth to the Swans' attack. Liam Cullen is the club's only recognised striker.

Swansea City are in need of reinforcements after a disappointing season. They finished 15th in the Championship last term.

Williams is hoping to bring in a number of new players this summer. He is keen to build a squad that can challenge for promotion next season.
