One Week Left to Vote for Your Favourite Arran Cause

Arran – The Home to 72 Inspiring Causes

With just one week left to vote in this year’s Your Causeway Your Choice Awards, the people of Arran are being urged to get their votes in now.

This year Arran has a record-breaking 72 local causes competing to win a share of a £50,000 funding pot, and so far 1,352 votes have been cast by the community.

The Awards are a unique scheme through which local residents decide which projects will receive a share of funding from the proceeds of the sale of SSE’s stake in Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHE Transmission).

The Funding Will be Shared Out in Different Ways

A total of £30,000 will go to local causes on Arran, while £15,000 will be awarded to community projects on the Kintyre peninsula, and £5,000 will go to groups on the Cowal peninsula.

The top 15 causes nationally will then go forward to a second round of voting, with the top three causes each receiving a further £10,000.

Voting closes on Sunday 29 January, with winners to be announced by the end of February.
