Pat Cummins eyes Border-Gavaskar Trophy win
Australian skipper desperate to conquer India
Cummins eager to make history
Pat Cummins has set his sights on leading Australia to a historic Border-Gavaskar Trophy victory in India, a feat that has eluded the Aussies for nearly two decades.
The upcoming four-Test series, starting February 9, will be Cummins' first as captain in India, and he is determined to make it a memorable one.
"The one big thing that I want to tick off is winning a Test series in India," Cummins told reporters in Sydney.
"It's a huge challenge, but it's one that we're really excited about," he added.
Australia has not won a Test series in India since 2004, and Cummins knows that his team will need to be at their best to break that drought.
"India is a very tough place to tour," Cummins said.
"They've got a great team, and they're very well-suited to their conditions," he added.
"But we're confident that we can give them a run for their money," Cummins said.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is one of the most prestigious in Test cricket, and Cummins is well aware of the significance of winning it.
"It would be a huge achievement," Cummins said.
"It's something that we've been working towards for a long time," he added.
"We're really excited about the challenge, and we're confident that we can get the job done," Cummins said.
