Pat Cummins Vows To Silence Rohit Sharma's India In BGT: 'Our Job Is To Keep Them Quiet'
Australia's Test captain Pat Cummins has warned India that his team's goal is to silence their powerful batting lineup, led by Rohit Sharma, in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
Cummins, speaking to the media ahead of the series opener in Nagpur, said that Australia's bowling attack is well-prepared to counter India's formidable batting order.
India boasts a star-studded batting lineup that includes Sharma, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rishabh Pant. However, Cummins believes that Australia's bowlers have the skill and experience to restrict their scoring.
"We know India has a very strong batting lineup, but our job is to keep them quiet," Cummins said.
"We have a lot of experience in our bowling attack, and we're confident that we can create chances and take wickets throughout the series."
Cummins also highlighted the importance of taking early wickets to put India under pressure.
"Getting early wickets is crucial in any Test match, but it's especially important against a team like India," Cummins said.
"If we can get a few early wickets, we can put them on the back foot and make it difficult for them to score runs."
The BGT is a four-match Test series that will be played in India from February 9 to March 13.
