Price in 'best form' of Scotland scrum-half options for Fiji - Townsend
Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has backed Ali Price to start at scrum-half against Fiji on Saturday.
Price has been in impressive form for Glasgow Warriors this season and has started the last four Tests for Scotland.
The 28-year-old will be competing with Ben White and George Horne for the number nine jersey against Fiji.
However, Townsend believes Price is the man in possession and is in the 'best form' of the three options.
"Ali is in the best form of the three scrum-halves," said Townsend.
"He's playing with a lot of confidence and he's making good decisions on the pitch."
"He's also a very good communicator and he's able to get the team around him."
Price will be looking to continue his good form against Fiji on Saturday.
The scrum-half has scored two tries in his last four Tests and will be looking to add to that tally against the Pacific Islanders.
Scotland will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Australia last weekend.
The Scots were well beaten by the Wallabies in Sydney and will be looking to put in a much-improved performance against Fiji.
Townsend has made a number of changes to his team for the Fiji match.
Price is one of four changes to the starting line-up, with Sam Skinner, Josh Bayliss and Darcy Graham also coming into the team.
Townsend is hoping the changes will help Scotland get back to winning ways.
"We've made a few changes to the team for the Fiji match," said Townsend.
"We're looking for a reaction from the players after the defeat to Australia."
"We know Fiji are a dangerous team and we'll need to be at our best to beat them."
