Real Madrid Legend Sacked by Current Club After Feud With Manager
Isco's Time at Sevilla Comes to an Abrupt End
Former Real Madrid star Isco has had his contract terminated by Sevilla after a public falling out with manager Jorge Sampaoli.
The Spanish playmaker joined Sevilla in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer after leaving Real Madrid, but his time at the Andalusian club has been far from successful.
Isco has only started four La Liga games for Sevilla this season and has failed to score or assist a goal.
Feud With Sampaoli
Isco's relationship with Sampaoli reportedly deteriorated in recent weeks, with the player unhappy with his lack of playing time.
The situation came to a head after Sevilla's 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on January 21, with Isco reportedly criticizing Sampaoli's tactics in front of his teammates.
Sampaoli responded by dropping Isco from the squad for Sevilla's next game, a 1-0 defeat to Girona in La Liga.
Contract Termination
Following the Girona game, Sevilla announced that Isco's contract had been terminated by mutual consent.
The club released a statement saying: "Sevilla FC and Isco have reached an agreement to terminate the contract that linked both parties.
"The club wishes Isco the best of luck in his future professional career."
Isco's Future
Isco is now a free agent and is free to join any club on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to MLS, with several clubs reportedly interested in signing him.
Isco has also been linked with a return to Real Madrid, but it is unclear whether the club would be interested in re-signing him.
