A positive Saturday for the Repsol Honda Team as Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro progress through to Q2

The Repsol Honda Team made a positive step forward on Saturday at the Malaysian Grand Prix, with Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro both progressing through to Q2.

Marquez was the faster of the two riders, finishing FP3 in 10th place with a time of 2:00.793. Espargaro was just behind in 12th place, with a time of 2:00.894.

Both riders were able to improve their times in Q1, with Marquez setting a time of 1:59.853 to finish third and Espargaro setting a time of 1:59.932 to finish fourth.

This means that both riders will start Sunday's race from the fourth row of the grid, with Marquez in seventh place and Espargaro in eighth place.

It was a positive day for the Repsol Honda Team, and they will be hoping to continue their progress in Sunday's race.

Marquez pleased with progress made

Marquez was pleased with the progress that he made on Saturday, and he is confident that he can have a good race on Sunday.

"Today was a positive day for us," said Marquez. "We made a step forward with the bike, and I was able to improve my lap time by almost a second from FP3 to Q2.

"I'm still not where I want to be, but we're definitely moving in the right direction. I'm confident that I can have a good race tomorrow."

Espargaro looking to build on positive start

Espargaro was also pleased with his progress on Saturday, and he is looking to build on his positive start in Sunday's race.

"Today was a good day for me," said Espargaro. "I was able to improve my lap time by almost a second from FP3 to Q2, and I'm feeling more and more comfortable on the bike.

"I'm looking to build on this positive start in tomorrow's race. I think we can have a good result."
