Steve Cooper Addresses Leicester City Right Flank Problems Ahead of Big Decision

The Foxes boss is set to make a call on whether to recall Ricardo Pereira or stick with Timothy Castagne against Brighton

Cooper has been impressed with Castagne's recent form but knows Pereira offers something different

Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has admitted he has a big decision to make ahead of the club's Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.

The Foxes have been struggling for form in recent weeks, winning just one of their last six games in all competitions.

One of the main problems for Cooper has been the lack of creativity from the right flank.

Ricardo Pereira has been the club's first-choice right-back for much of the season, but he has been in poor form in recent weeks.

Timothy Castagne has been preferred to Pereira in recent games and has impressed with his attacking play.

However, Cooper knows that Pereira offers something different to Castagne, with his ability to get forward and create chances.

"It's a big decision for me," said Cooper.

"Ricardo is a very good player, but he's not been in the best of form lately.

"Timothy has come in and done well, but he's a different type of player to Ricardo.

"Ricardo is more of a traditional full-back, while Timothy is more of a wing-back.

"I need to decide which type of player I want to play against Brighton.

"It's a big game for us, and we need to get back to winning ways."

Leicester are currently 13th in the Premier League table, eight points above the relegation zone.

However, the Foxes have a tough run of fixtures coming up, with games against Brighton, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in their next four matches.

Cooper knows that his team need to start picking up points if they want to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle.

"We're in a difficult position at the moment," said Cooper.

"We need to start winning games, and we need to start winning them quickly.

"The next four games are going to be tough, but we need to take each game as it comes and try to get as many points as we can.

"We know that we're capable of beating anyone on our day, so we just need to go out there and prove it."
