Emily Mortimer addresses taking over Mrs Brown role in Paddington 3

'I'm so excited to be a part of this extraordinary world'

Emily Mortimer has said she is "so excited" to be taking over the role of Mrs Brown in Paddington 3.

Mortimer will replace Sally Hawkins in the role, who played the character in the first two films.

In a statement, Mortimer said: "I'm so excited to be a part of this extraordinary world. I can't wait to begin this journey with Hugh Bonneville and the rest of the cast and crew. I'm sure there will be lots of marmalade sandwiches and adventures along the way."

Mortimer is best known for her roles in films such as Match Point, Lars and the Real Girl, and Shutter Island.

She has also starred in TV series such as The Newsroom and Doll & Em.

Paddington 3 is due to be released in 2023.
