Graham Carr: Northampton Town will be 'heavy favourites' against Kettering in FA Cup

Northampton Town will be 'heavy favourites' when they take on Kettering Town in the FA Cup first round, according to former Cobblers defender Graham Carr.

Carr, who made over 200 appearances for the Cobblers, believes his former club will be too strong for their National League North opponents.

“Northampton will be heavy favourites,” Carr told the Northampton Chronicle & Echo.

“They’re a League Two club and Kettering are a National League North club, so there’s a big difference in the level of the two teams.”

“Northampton have got a lot of good players and they’re playing well at the moment, so I think they’ll be too strong for Kettering.”

The Cobblers are currently 11th in League Two, while Kettering are 14th in National League North.

The two sides have met once before in the FA Cup, with Northampton winning 3-1 in the first round in 2010.

The match will be played at Kettering’s Latimer Park on Saturday, November 5.
