'It's still special': Alexander on FA Cup as City chase first win since 2020
Nathan Ake and Riyad Mahrez in contention to make Manchester City comebacks against Chelsea
Manchester City will be looking to end their FA Cup hoodoo when they take on Chelsea in the third round on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola's side have not won the competition since 2020, and they will be desperate to make amends this season.
Alexander-Arnold: Liverpool must 'learn' from Man City defeat to 'kick on'
Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold believes Liverpool must "learn" from their defeat to Manchester City if they are to "kick on" and challenge for the Premier League title.
The Reds were beaten 3-2 by the champions at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, and Alexander-Arnold admits that they were "not good enough" on the night.
"We need to learn from it," he said. "We need to take the positives and the negatives and use it to kick on and improve.
"We know that we can play better than we did against City, and we need to show that in our next game."
Liverpool will have the chance to bounce back when they take on Brentford at Anfield on Monday.
Alexander-Arnold is confident that the team can put the City defeat behind them and get back to winning ways.
"We have a lot of quality in this team," he said. "We know that we can beat anyone on our day, and we just need to show that consistency.
"We have a big game against Brentford on Monday, and we need to make sure that we put in a good performance and get the three points."
Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League table, 15 points behind leaders Arsenal.
They will need to start winning games consistently if they are to challenge for the title this season.
