Missing raccoon captured but three still at large
Animal control officers are still searching for three raccoons that escaped from a home in the city's west end on Tuesday.
One of the raccoons was captured on Wednesday, but the other three remain at large. The raccoons are believed to be about six months old and are not considered to be a danger to the public.
Animal control officers are asking residents to be on the lookout for the raccoons and to call 311 if they see them.
The raccoons escaped from a home on Elm Street on Tuesday afternoon. The homeowners were out of town at the time and the raccoons were able to get out of their cage.
The raccoons are described as being black with white markings. They are about the size of a cat and have bushy tails.
Animal control officers are using traps and bait to try to capture the raccoons. They are also asking residents to keep their garbage cans closed and to secure any pet food that is left outside.
